Differnence between FUT & FUE
Anyone’s expectation from hair transplantation is achieving a hair growth with natural results & good density. Advancements in medical sciences is contributing greatly towards fulfilling such expectations.
Hair Transplantation is majorly distinguished as two main techniques i.e. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). The basic difference lies in the way the follicles or grafts are extracted. In FUT Hair Transplant, the strip method is used in which a strip of scalp with healthy hairs is taken from ‘donor area’ & it is further get dissected at stereo-microscopic level to achieve the naturally occurring groups of hairs i.e. follicles without damaging it. Whereas, in FUE Hair Transplant follicles are taken directly from ‘donor area’, No strip is taken out from scalp in FUE Hair Transplant. Thus, No Stitches & No Scar.
The two extraction techniques – FUE Hair Transplant & FUT Hair Transplant – differ with regard to the scarring left in the donor area. In FUT, a narrow linear scar is left behind whereas in FUE hair transplant, micro-scars looking like little dotted scars are left behind, which is visibly less pointed out.
In terms of healing time, FUE Hair Transplant is faster than FUT and generally free of pain. A temporary numb feeling which could last for several months in case of FUT, does not occur with FUE Hair Transplant.
Both the techniques are equally successful, success of both FUE & FUT Hair Transplant is greatly dependent on training, experience, technology, ability & expertise of hair transplant surgeon. Any technique should always be performed by experience specialists.
FUT ( Follicular Unit Transplantation)
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is a hair transplantation technique is which a strip of scalp with hairs on it is taken from back of head. The strip is further dissected at microscopic level in a way in which naturally occurring group of hairs i.e. follicles are not get damaged. The success of this technique like in this fact, grafts are almost intact while dissection.
It is one of the most common techniques of hair transplant, most of the hair transplant doctors & surgeons in India perform this technique. Many eminent personalities have undergone their hair transplant surgeries with the technique with very successful results. This technique gives natural results and leaves only a linear scar on back of head which is not visible once your head is full of hairs.
